Upon registering your child for baptism, you will be asked to attend an upcoming Baptismal Preparation class. The sessions are usually held on the fourth Wednesday of every month at 7:30pm in the Chapel (below is a list of classes). You may attend the Class prior to the birth of your child, or you may bring your newborn to the Class.
The session is conducted by one of our Deacons. Material covered includes a general overview of the seven Sacraments, the history of Baptism, the Sacramental Theology of Baptism and the specific details of the ritual itself. A lively Q & A and informal open discussion concludes the session.
The final part of the evening is a social where light refreshments and general new baby information (child care, formula issues, sleep habits, etc.) is shared among the parents. The session concludes at 9:00pm.
It is a wonderful, enlightening evening of information gathering and an opportunity to meet other couples that are experiencing the joys of parenthood. We look forward to meeting you and sharing your story of participating in God’s plan of creation through your newborn son or daughter.
