Dear Parishioners, After months of hard work and preparation, I am delighted to tell you that our sound expert engineers will install the sound panels on November 17 and 18. Our sound system will be installed the week of December 12-16. The company that we have chosen, Monte Bros is well recognized through the United States. A sound expert will be available for all the masses on December 17 and 18 to fine tune the sound. We are excited to be able to fix this ongoing issue and thank you for your patience. In the last few months, the Catholic and Protestants clergy in the Washington Township and the Episcopal church in Chester have met to become acquainted with each other and to begin to form bonds of friendship. We, as Christians certainly have more in common than divides us. The Protestant pastors, both women and men with their affiliated staffs in our area are a wonderful caring group of people and are keen that we, in the Long Valley area can work together on different projects and prayer experiences. I am excited to invite you to join us for our first ever Thanksgiving Ecumenical service. This service will be held at Highlands Presbyterian Church, 3 Heath Lane in Long Valley, the Monday before Thanksgiving, November 21 at 7 pm. Please join us as we, the parish family of St. Luke play our part in ecumenism and spend time together to thank God for the gifts of faith, family, and country that he has generously bestowed upon us. In the last several months we have renamed the former chapel, the Marian Room in honor of Mary and our devoted parishioner, Marian Schaudenecker and is now being used for a variety of meetings, gatherings, and prayer experiences. Our good parishioner, Chuck repainted the room recently and last Thursday, we had the room recarpeted. I am delighted to be able to now offer this room for many varied experiences. The room is beautiful, and I know will provide a much-needed meeting space for our many ministries and other out of parish groups. Our Bereavement Group met again last Monday, November 7th. We now have ten and it is wonderful to see how each can minister to the other under my direction with the support and help of MaryAnn, Mike, and Mike. As our little group has now bonded, we have decided to close the registration. Karen Hannon has had a marvelous scripture experience these past weeks for the women of the parish. Not only have the ladies enjoyed delving into scripture, but they have also begun to bond and make new friends. A beautiful way to build community. The ladies’ bible study will resume in January. Our beloved Helen and Tim Kelly invite you to join them for much loved Scripture series which brings scripture to life and helps many to prepare for the Advent season leading into the joy of Christmas. Registration will close on November 14.
